Also known as the “Little Kinmen,” Lieyu is located southwest to Kinmen island and between Kinmen and Amoy. It is at the sea exit of Jioulong River of Fuchien Province and Amoy Bay, and includes small islands such as Dadan, Erdan, Fuhsingyu, Menghuyu, and Shihyu. Some islands are only 5,000m away from China, making Lieyu the most important frontline of Taiwan.

Previously located in Silu, the Town Office moved to the current address in 2002 (No. 60, Silu, Linhu Village, Lieyu Township). Our township’s districts include Linhu, Huangpu, Sikou, Shanglin, and Shangchi, with more than 9,000 peple and a total area of 14.851 square kilometers. The districts have 26 villages: Silu, Sijhai, Donglin, Huhsia, Luocuo, Chingchi, Shangku, Yangcuo, Shanglin, Chungdun, Nantang, Houjing, Chianpu, Hujingtou, Dongkeng, Shuangkou, Siatien, Siwu, Sifang, Houjhai, Huangcuo, Putou, Anding, Ansia, Houtou, and Linbian.

Our township has beautiful sceneries and historic ruins such as 823 Cannon War Monument, Museum of War History, Bada Tower, General’s Fortress, the famous Lienyu Temple, and delightful coastal passages, white sand beaches, and magnificent ocean. Our specialties include taro, bamboo leaf-wrapped candies, and all sorts of seafood. The traditional Fuchien villages also manifest the unique charisma of our island.
