The purpose of the trip is to observe the creatures of Lieyu's intertidal zone, includes algae, shells, crabs and oysters. The experience of appropriately digging & picking up the shells as well as the introduction of oyster farming allows visitors to appreciate the beauty of Lieyu's intertidal zone and learn more about natural conservation and ecology education. Another key point is to observe the birds at West Lake and roam in the footpath among trees.
Although Lieyu is just away from Great Kinmen by a narrow waterway, the intertidal zone of Lieyu has very rich ecological resources due to various geographical factors. There are a lot of intertidal organisms, include species that are not distributed in Taiwan, presenting the unique biodiversity of Lieyu intertidal zone.
