Bada Tower
Standing at the intersection of Jiujing Road and Baqing Road, Lieyu

Built in 1966
  • Bada Tower was built by "Great Wall" garrison in 1966. It is a castle like square building located in front of Xizhai community. 
 
Introduction
  • The 8 meters high imposing Bada Tower was built based on the story of Bada Tower in Anti-Japanese war.
  • On the top of the tower, visitors will see the statues of the seven warriors. It is to commemorate the seven soldiers of 1st squad, regiment 145 from ROC 25th division who defended Badaling of the Great Wall of China during Anti-Japanese War in 1933. The seven warriors fought against thousands of enemies and devoted their lives to the country after running out of ammunition and replacements.
  • The seven warriors killed hundreds of enemy troops in the battle but still sacrificed as they were greatly outnumbered by the enemy. Their spirit was highly admired by the Japanese army and therefore the army buried them in Gubeikou and built a tablet of "Chinese Seven Warriors" to commemorate them.
  • The spiritual fort of "Bada Tower" was inlaid with signs of "Gubeikou", "Shanhaiguan", "Xifengkou" and "Jiumenkou", the names of the four major fortress of the Great Wall of China on the four sides. The motivational slogans on the walls surrounding the tower read: "Fight Independently", "Self-Reliance", "Fortitude" and "Belief for Victory".
 
Attractions
  • Bada Tower is one of Lieyu's famous landmarks where you can climb up the spiral staircase in the middle of the tower to the top. The statues of the seven warriors on the top are with lifelike heroic bearing, presenting persevere fighting spirit of the battlefield.
